Pura Vida: Virtual Opening + Artist Talk

440 Gallery is proud to announce Pura Vida, a cross-platform exhibition by artists Karen Gibbons, Fred Bendheim, Sara Edkins and Gail Flanery. The exhibition of 40+ paintings, drawings and collages may be seen in person at 280 Nevins Street Studio and also virtually on the 440 Gallery website. The artists have generously agreed to donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale of selected artworks to benefit 440 Gallery, an artist-run collective in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Register to attend the Exhibition Virtual Opening & Artist Talk via Zoom here Saturday, August 1, 4-6pm.  The fundraiser will run from August 1 - August 15. The artwork will go live on the 440 Gallery website on August 1, stay tuned for the link!

Visit the exhibition in person at 280 Nevins Street Studio by appointment. Contact Gail Flanery at gcflanery@gmail.com.

The artwork in Pura Vida was created at the intimate artist residency at the Julia and David White Artists Colony in Ciudad Colon, Costa Rica during March 2020. Amid the ever-changing news of COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions, all four artists had time and space devoted to exploring art and nature on an individual level. Collectively, they were also able to absorb and respond to the unsettling uncertainties unfolding throughout the world during the pandemic.

The virtual opening and artist talk is free, but you must register in advance.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
